For many people, yoga is just a bunch of stretching and nothing more, but if you have never done yoga, you should at least try it. The hardest and yet best workout I ever did was yoga.
I started doing yoga a few years ago as a way to just relieve stress. The beginners classes were somewhat simple so I took it upon myself to do more advanced moves on my own.
I found out really fast why there are steps in the yoga "training" process. I started the more advanced steps thinking it would be easy, but came to find out the hard way that's not true.
There are yoga positions and workouts for everything. After I gave birth to my son, I started doing yoga again and the ab and core workouts helped me lose 23 pounds I had put on while pregnant.
I love doing yoga because not only does it help me relax, but it helps me stay on track with my eating healthy and regulating routine.
The best part of yoga for me is that now that my son in 3, he can do some of it with me. Being a single mother, it is a great bonding time with my son.
Some of the positions help with my upper arms, my legs, and my weight loss.
I would recommend this to any mother, or to anyone who just wants a good workout that they can get good results from as well as a little relaxation.
30 minutes a day is a good start for beginners and while it isn't as intense as hitting the gym, it does work!
