I was with Weight Watchers for eight months. I chose to go there because I was taking medication for high cholesterol and needed to take control over my weight.
The program was easy at first, but the more weight I lost the hungrier I was.
Weight Watchers allows you to eat anything you want, but encourages journaling. There is a daily speaker, so you can choose to go to your meetings anytime you want during the times available.
I liked the speaker that was there on Sundays. She was very knowledgeable and kept me wanting to come back every week. She had a very pleasant demeanor and had a special way of congratulating us when I lost weight, and didn't make me feel too bad when I gained.
I have a big family so watching what I ate during weddings, baby showers, holidays, etc. was the hardest.
I would join weight watchers again if I had the money. They taught me how to make healthy choices and to keep track of what I ate so that I didn't over eat.
I would definitely recommend this program to others who have the drive and motivation, or who need support to gain the drive they need to motivate them to lose weight.
I believe that the reason weight watchers didn't work out for me is because I had to plan plan plan in order to lose the weight I wanted and my schedule didn't allow me to do that.
I ended up joining a pay by year group after those eight months, but this group doesn't really require any discipline, so I really want to go back to Weight Watchers.
