As you said the diet you did was successful but it required a little effort and time. But in my opinion, I think there is a simpler diet to lose excess weight in your body and you can make it more effective by doing some exercise.
Instead of reducing meat, and other food containing high amount of fat and calories, you can just remove one quarter of the amount of food you take in one meal. For example if you were eating one bread at breakfast, you can just eat three quarters of the bread. Also at lunch you remove one quarter of rice in your plate.
Now you can do some regular activities in the morning so that the diet can be effective and provide satisfactory result. This really helps me especially when I was overweight and could not control my eating habits. Now the result is that today I have a perfect body.
