I gained weight after my first baby, and I couldn't lose it. Then somebody told me about the Atkins diet.
I became a mother at the age of 25. I weighed around 45Kg before that but after that I weighed around 60Kg.
For two years I thought I would get back to my original shape. All I had to do was walk daily. But, there was no difference.
I was skeptical at first because being an Indian I take my daily intake of carbs very seriously. Anyway I thought I will give it a try with the encouragement of my family.
It was difficult initially. I would feel tired as my body would crave for the starchy food I was used to eating. I struggled for 3 weeks.
Then, I weighed myself and I could see that I had lost 2kilos. That encouraged me and I continued the diet.
It was difficult at times but with my family's encouragement I could go on. I also did not stop walking.
Going out and eating in restaurants was not a problem but going to someone's house for lunch or dinner was. I had to contend with lots of advice and some rib tickling.
By the end of 6 months I lost 12 kilos and I stopped the diet. I was beginning to feel bugged of cooking separate meals, eating different food.
I started eating carbs. I learned to eat moderately so I didn't put on weight after that. I continued walking.
Now, I am again back to my 65 Kilos thanks to my second pregnancy. It is two years since I gave birth to my 2nd child and I am back to the Atkins diet to lose weight once more. I would definitely recommend it.
