I was on the Atkins diet for about six month. I lost about 25 lbs but the diet itself gave me heart palpitations, headaches, and a really groggy feeling. I had decreased energy as well.
Sure the diet helped me lose 25 lbs but once I decided that was enough and I was going to go back to a normal diet and just maintain my weight loss, forget it!
Even eating low calorie and healthy the weight came back on, plus some.
A few years later I decided to just do it the right way, lower calories and exercise. Slow weight loss.
My body looked better and I was wearing a smaller size than I was at my lowest "Atkins" weight.
This is because I was gaining muscle and losing it the right way. I could even have "cheat" days and not gain.
There's no substitute for the old fashion way of losing weight.
