As with many people who are overweight, I have tried everything that I heard that would make me lose weight, especially if the results would come fast. It was not different with the Atkins diet.
I did the Atkins diet for 2 weeks and I did lose lots of weight. I lost 7 kilos in the first week.
However, the lack of carbs and excess of protein gave me bad breath and a very bad mood. I would feel dizzy about twice a day and I actually looked like I was sick.
Obviously after being carb deprived I ate too much carbs after stopping with the diet and I gained all the weight I lost in no time.
So, if you are looking for losing weight for a party or a specific event and need results fast then I would recommend Atkins. But not if you are looking for a long term healthy life-style.
