I tried different kinds of diets and nothing worked before I had the book Flat Belly Diet.
Diets are really hard for me because the lifestyle changes that I have to make are very drastic and I end up going back to my usual eating habits.
I tried low-carb diet and it was hard trying to resist breads and rice. I totally gave up. I never reached my target weight goal.
Luckily, while I was in a secondhand book store, I stumbled upon a bright yellow book that says Flat Belly Diet. I scanned the book and the author sounded very chic. With the price of less than $2, I thought it was a great bargain and I was right.
The book is about eating 400-calorie meals four times a day with monounsaturated fats like nuts and dark chocolate.
I tried the 4-day anti-bloat quick start which had a lot of restrictions like coffee and tea which was hard for me to resist but I managed to keep my hands off them. I lost my water weight of 4 pounds! I was inspired to continue the diet.
The recipes were not applicable on where I am from, but I used the book's philosophy of the right portion sizes and the right amount of calories.
I did not follow the recipes in the book but I learned to choose foods that use the same concept.
I can eat all that I want including fast food and desserts. I just make sure that I stay under my calorie budget.
I lost a total of 17 pounds for 3 months. The weight loss was not drastic but safe and sure.
