If you're looking for a meal of home-cooked comfort food, Lamberts is the place to go. If you want to lose weight---run in the other direction. You order your main dish and a couple of side items from the menu. Most main dishes are fried. The side dishes do include some healthy things, but most of the vegetables have been cooked in butter. Then waiters come around with big bowls of additional sides that you can partake of--fried potatoes, fried okra, sorghum molasses for the huge rolls they throw to you across the room. If you manage to eat all of your food, you can get another plateful--for free! There's no way you can leave without feeling absolutely stuffed.
