How to figure your daily calorie needs
Another way to go about it is to use your goal weight. How do you find you goal weight? Well, you could say you want to look like Kate Moss. But she weighs 105 pounds. And she doesn't get to eat.
Or maybe you want to look like a bodybuilder. Well, Ronnie Coleman, 8 time Mr. Olympia, weighs around 350 pounds. Not good for a long, healthy life.
Or you could pick what you weighed in high school. You could. But you're not in high school anymore. If you can get to that weight and feel good, wonderful.
But no need to torture yourself. Find a weight where you look good. Feel good. And are healthy.
The body mass index (BMI) can help you find a good weight. A body mass index of 25 should give you a lean, healthy body.
So you just find the weight that gives you a BMI of 25. And enter that weight into the calculator. That tells you how many calories you will burn at your goal weight.
And simple enough, if you take in that many calories each day, you will gradually get to your goal weight. And stay there.
