I am not a yo-yo dieter by any means, and I don't rush out or jump into the newest diet fads out there. However, during my pregnancy with my second son, I gained a LOT of weight.
Two months after he was born, I hadn't shed a single pound, and I was eager to get my pre-pregnancy figure back.
I did some research on the different types of diets out there, and the one that struck me the most was the Eat Clean Diet.
The reason this diet struck me as the one that would be the most successful diet for me is that it made a lot of sense. It encourages people to eat only whole, non-processed, non-sugar-laden foods. Instead, dieters buy and prepare fresh, whole foods.
It is not just a diet like some of the other ones out there. It is a lifestyle change.
For me, the lifestyle change was an easy one. My family and I have always enjoyed fresh, wholesome ingredients.
I just needed a better, more effective way of preparing them in a more satisfying manner. The Eat Clean diet certainly did that for me.
And the great thing about the diet is that it doesn't cost a whole lot of money.
I typically don't buy processed foods because I make almost everything from scratch. Making everything from scratch -- from chicken broth to applesauce -- saves so much money, though for a lot of people it loses the convenience of the grab-on-the-go packaged foods.
One of the greatest things about the Eat Clean Diet is that it doesn't eliminate a particular type of food, like carbohydrates or fat. It allows some wiggle-room in a diet, which means greater success.
It is basically a more healthy lifestyle that dieters are following, which not only has its weight-loss benefits, but also has the health benefits of increased energy, lower cholesterol, and lower blood pressure.
I have had great success with the Eat Clean Diet, and I recommend it to anybody who is looking for a healthier lifestyle.
I am currently pregnant with my third child, and the Eat Clean Diet is still beneficial to me. It has helped me gain the pregnancy weight in a healthy way instead of through candy bars and fast foods. My cravings in this pregnancy have been for things like melon and fresh veggies.
I am not at risk for Gestational Diabetes or Preeclampsia, and after just a short bout of morning sickness, I have more energy and am healthier than most women in my stage of pregnancy!
