Several years ago, I joined a women's gym that offered a variety of classes. I participated once a week in a beginning yoga class that I will never forget.
At first it didn't seem very physically demanding compared to the aerobic and strength classes.
And yet these classes increased my energy and motivation phenomenally, as well as my hand-eye coordination.
I'd done yoga DVD workouts before, but the effect of those failed in comparison to having an instructor who could correct my posture and challenge me.
Being able to do partner moves with other class members was also key for reaching some of the benefits of yoga.
